For students and parents

Student guide

Find a tutor, pay by card, and join the lesson.

Finding a tutor

Open Discover and search by subject. On a phone, suggestions sit under the search box. Filters narrow the list.

A tutor’s page shows their photo, intro, subjects, rate, and open times. There is no Verified badge. A profile photo is not a government-ID check.

Booking and paying

Pick an open time and pay the full listed price by card through Stripe. The tutor’s share goes to the tutor’s own Stripe account. CaribTutor does not hold those funds.

Pay by card. PayPal checkout is not the way to pay, and tutor PayPal payouts are not live. If Stripe cannot pay that tutor’s country yet, card checkout stays off until payouts open.

Joining the lesson

Open the lesson from your dashboard. Join at the scheduled start. Check your camera and microphone on the setup screen, then join.

CaribTutor does not record the lesson. If video is not set up, use Messages and tell support. The practice room is for testing, not a booked lesson.

The Release button

After a paid lesson, tap Release payment if it went fine. That sends the tutor’s share toward their bank. If you do nothing, it is released 72 hours after the scheduled end. The job runs once a day, so it can land up to about a day later.

If something went wrong

Before release, tap “I have a problem.” That pauses the tutor payout for review. An admin can release the payout, refund the charge in full, or leave the fee with no refund.

Report a quality complaint before release. Changing your mind after a normal lesson is not a refund.

Refunds and cancellations

Cancel more than 12 hours before the start for a full refund. Inside 12 hours, you can still cancel and the fee generally stands.

If you miss the lesson, the fee stays with the tutor. If the tutor misses it, you are refunded in full. A technical failure is reviewed. It is not an automatic refund.

Refunds are full or none. There are no lesson credits and no partial refunds.

Parents and students under 13

At signup, choose “I am 13 or older” or “I am a parent or guardian creating this for my child.” Someone under 13 cannot create their own account. The parent or guardian holds the account. There is no separate child login and no automated parent-consent check.

Safety tips

Keep lessons and messages on CaribTutor. Do not move a paid lesson off the site. Tell a parent if something feels wrong, and report it to support. Staff can limit messaging or close an account.
