This notice says what CaribTutor stores and which companies process it. Version 5.1. We do not sell personal information.

Version 5.1. Effective September 27, 2026. These pages are governed by the laws of New Jersey. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Hudson County, New Jersey, except where the law requires a court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@caribtutor.xyz within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
We use this information to create accounts, show listings, run lessons, take payment through Stripe, release tutor payouts, send lesson and account email, review safety reports, and keep the service working. CaribTutor may review messages and lesson attendance for safety, quality, and dispute resolution. Tutors are told when a student saves them as a favourite or starts a booking, including when that booking is left unfinished. Those emails can be turned off in Settings. The terms checkbox is a record of assent, not a consent toggle for every kind of processing.
Where those laws apply, we rely on the contract (running the account and the lesson), legitimate interests (security, fraud, and fixing errors), and legal duty (lawful requests). We ask before we start a new use that needs consent.
The other person on a booking sees what they need for that lesson. Tutors see the homework they assign, and the student’s answer. CaribTutor admins can open assignments and submissions to operate the marketplace. Those views are recorded. Admins can see accounts to operate the marketplace. Stripe receives student and tutor payment data to charge the lesson and pay the tutor share to the tutor’s Stripe account. PayPal receives payment data only if that checkout is turned on. We do not sell personal information.

The login session is stored in the browser so you stay signed in. We may store a theme choice and a referral code on the device. Vercel Analytics and, when configured, Google Analytics measure visits. You can block cookies in your browser; the signed-in app may not work without the session.
A person under 13 cannot create their own account. A parent or guardian can create the account and use it with the child. We store that choice. We do not run a separate verifiable-consent workflow. Details are on child safety.
Access to the database is limited by account role. Card numbers stay with Stripe. No method of storage is perfect.
We keep account, lesson, and payment records while the account is open and afterward when we still need them for payments, disputes, safety, or a legal duty. We do not promise a fixed deletion deadline. Email support@caribtutor.xyz to ask about closing an account.
The providers above may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate, which may not be your country.
You can update your name and profile in Settings. Depending on where you live, you may ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion, subject to records we must keep. Email support@caribtutor.xyz.
Lesson and account email is part of the service. Settings can turn off lesson email and new-message email. We do not run a separate marketing mailing list. Email support@caribtutor.xyz if you want those messages to stop.
If we learn of a breach of personal information that requires notice, we will email the address on the account. There is no separate breach portal.
