Version 5.1. Effective September 27, 2026. These pages are governed by the laws of New Jersey. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in Hudson County, New Jersey, except where the law requires a court. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@caribtutor.xyz within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
You set your own availability and your listed rate. You may teach on other platforms and offline. CaribTutor does not set your hours, does not withhold employment taxes, and does not provide employment benefits.
Describe your subjects and experience honestly. Use a real head-and-shoulders photo. Staff may accept or reject that photo. A passed photo is not a Verified identity badge, and we do not check a government ID. An intro video of 30 seconds to 2 minutes is required for new tutors before the listing can go live. Tutors who were already live before that rule may stay bookable without one.
Do not contact a minor off the platform unless a parent or guardian has agreed. Do not ask a student to move a lesson off CaribTutor. Report abuse to support@caribtutor.xyz with the subject “Child safety”. Read child safety and community and safety.
Do not solicit students to pay you outside CaribTutor for a lesson that was booked here. That includes asking for a direct card, cash, or another app to skip the marketplace fee.
Trial lessons are kept by CaribTutor. You earn from every lesson after that.
Students pay the full lesson price by card through Stripe. The tutor’s share goes to the tutor’s own Stripe account. Starting at 28%. Your rate drops as you complete more lessons: Starter 0–49 completed lessons at 28%, Growing 50–149 at 22%, Established 150–299 at 18%, and Top Tutor 300+ at 15%. The rate is locked on the lesson. Stripe processing fees come out of that commission. Payment is released when the student taps Release, or automatically 72 hours after the lesson ends. Reporting a problem before release pauses it for review. Refunds follow the refund policy. CaribTutor does not hold tutor lesson funds and is not a money transmitter. Tutors in countries Stripe does not support cannot take card payouts yet. PayPal is coming for those tutors. Processor Multiparty / delayed disbursement is not live.
Starting at 28%. Your rate drops as you complete more lessons. Regular card lessons lock 28% (Starter, 0–49 completed paid lessons), 22% (Growing, 50–149), 18% (Established, 150–299), or 15% (Top Tutor, 300+). On a $40 lesson you receive $28.80, $31.20, $32.80, or $34.00. The rate stays on that lesson. Your tier does not drop once you reach it. Stripe’s processing fee comes out of that commission. A first introductory offer, when it applies, can be a platform charge with no transfer to you, and it does not count toward your lesson total. Card payouts use a Stripe Connect Express account in your name. Your share is transferred to that account when the student pays. The bank payout waits until the student taps Release, or until the daily job releases it 72 hours after the lesson, which can be up to about a day late because the job runs once a day. “I have a problem” before release pauses that payout for review. CaribTutor does not hold your funds. If Stripe does not support card payouts in your country, you can still create a profile, but students cannot pay you by card yet. PayPal payouts are not live. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.
CaribTutor does not provide insurance for your teaching. Any cover you want is your responsibility.
You own the materials you create. You give CaribTutor a license to host and show them on the service, including your photo, intro video, and profile text. We do not use them to train our own AI models.
This agreement starts when you accept it and continues until you stop teaching or we close the account. We may pause or close a listing for a breach or a safety issue. Email support@caribtutor.xyz with the subject “Appeal” within 30 days if you think that was a mistake. There is no promised decision date.
More than 12 hours before start, a cancel refunds a paid student. Inside that window you cannot cancel in the app; contact support. If you no-show, the student is refunded in full. If the student no-shows, the fee generally stays with you. Details are on the refund policy.
A student problem report is reviewed in the product. You can send a response. An admin may release the payout, refund the charge in full, or leave the fee with no refund. Legal disputes about this agreement follow the arbitration terms in the Terms of Service, including the 30-day email opt-out.
Liability limits in the Terms of Service apply to this agreement, including the cap of the greater of 12 months of fees paid or $100, with the same carve-outs the law requires.
Before you apply, check that Stripe payouts are available in your country. PayPal payouts coming soon.
